the suit of my dreams

If you’re at all following fashion trends, you’ll know that power suits are absolutely and entirely in right now. I suppose we can thank the badass women in politics for this, because now we have so many color options so we don’t have to feel like we’re working for some corporate conglomerate that drains our souls (although a chic black suit can be paired well with some bright heels).

For the past year I have gone into thrift stores and made a B-line for their women’s suits/sets area. It’s always small, and always filled with every size except my own. I’ve left disappointed, but still with hands full of other clothes (oops). Except when I came home for summer, all that changed. I walked into Savers with conviction and found the most beautiful suit that fit perfectly. It was my lucky day!!

This vintage, mint green blazer set is so soft and stretchy and is now mine! The only downfall is its almost entire polyester, which makes it a bit hard to wear on hot summer days here in California. BUT! I wore it in the evening when it was breezy and cool and it kept me at the most perfect temperature.

I know that not every thrift store will carry something like this, so I went online searching for similar suits that you could buy for a decent price! I found the two below, which are beautiful and from websites that often have sales and are really affordable. Definitely check out all of their blazers and pants too, because there’s so many! Or just be very patient with your local thrift store. Visit once a week or biweekly and always check that section. Something will come up and it’ll be magic!
